Play For Elham are working with local artist Annie Begley to run a series of free pottery workshops each weekend in August, bringing together the youth and elderly generations in a joint project.
We now have funding from Shepway Arts in place and are looking for up to 48 participants. You will be offered at least two 2 1/2 hr workshops so that you can create and glaze your work, which you can take home and keep.
The project will aim to encourage looking at our natural environment for inspiration to create three dimensional work. The garden will be used to gather ideas and look at the structure of natural forms and the final sculpture will be designed to be placed in the garden.
An exhibition of the finished work will be on show in Elham and with the help of Shepway Arts, in Folkestone, in an outdoor setting.
If you or someone you know would like to take part, we need pairs that are 2 generations apart - you don't need to be related. If you cannot make up a pair but would like to take part please let us know as we are also advertising in other places and may have someone we can team you up with.
The workshops will take place every weekend in August: 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th, 21st, 22nd, 28th & 29th August.
There are morning or afternoon sessions available, each lasts 2 1/2 hours.
If you would like to take part please fill in the form below.
